Love this place. So happy this independent book store is still here for all to enjoy. The staff is well-informed and he store is always well-stocked with new and old. Stop in. Worth the trip and then go to Grafton Street Pub and Grill on Bow Street and then to J.P. Licks for cappuccino crunch ice cream. Wonderful evening!

The store was too crowded for our taste, but the selection was good. Worth a visit if you're in the vicinity.

When in Boston I always try to stop here. The selection is very well thought out by people who are true readers. So many lovely choices, you may leave your cash here. They have both used and new books. I always get immersed in the new, meaning to look at used later, but never seem to make it. Definitely stop... More

Used selection review only: the upstairs is new, downstairs is used. The fiction section downstairs is their specialty and for that they carry a large selection but on closer look they lack the hard to find authors all together, not that that's an uncommon trend, just that they're better at new upstairs (best bet for any hard-to-find title is online,... Walking around Harvard Square we happened upon this bookstore and my son saw a book he wanted in the window. And then my wife went in to 'buy it for him'. And then my daughter went in. About ten minutes later I gave up and followed them in...and an hour or so later I emerged carrying heavy bags and a... More

I honestly don't know how long I was here...thirty minutes, an hour and thirty minutes, because it's absolutely magical. They have new and used books, many rooms, and book ladders!! I'd 100% recommend a trip here.

Tremendous bookstore that will fulfill your need for exploration. If you ever wonder about the future of brick and mortar bookstores, drop into this extremely well curated collection and remember the fun of browsing and discovering new ways of thinking and writing about the world.

The Harvard Bookstore, its staff, and loyal customers have worked tirelessly over the years to maintain and support and keep relevant, one of the now iconic establishments in Harvard Square. This is the best place to duck into when it is raining or cold. Warm yourself, dry off a bit, or cool off on a muggy day in the "dog... More

Sadly, the once dozen bookstores in Harvard Square has dwindled to two or three, but happily one of the survivors is the best of them all, Harvard Bookstore. They have a fantastic collection of books, leaning toward books from the academic presses, though there is a good selection of mainstream titles also. The staff is also very knowledgeable and helpful.... More
