If you love gardening or just want to be in a magical place, this is the visit for you. Started by some very ambitious ladies way back when to save this site for a botanical garden. A must see.

Beautifully manicured. Roses were in bloom at the time we visited. There are outdoor displays and a somewhat smaller indoor display of orchids, temperate, tropical and desert environments. There is a separate butterfly exhibit. Docents were helpful and knowledgeable. Very clean. Trails wound through themed...More

Always lovely, kept up and super clean. I love this place. They have snacks, brunch, learning classes, so much to see and do and when everything is in BLOOM OMG it is the best! It is a Richmond MUST SEE!

It would be great to live near the Ginter Botanical Garden, and visit during all the seasons. While we were there, we skipped the long line to visit the butterfly room, but the orchid exhibit was breathtaking. The grounds are pleasant to stroll, with different...More

A real treat and a must see. The grounds and building are very special. The live butterfly exhibit was over the top.

We took my mom to Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden for Mother's Day. Fortunately, the weather was glorious, and she absolutely loved it. We arrived quite early in the morning, which was a good strategy. The butterfly exhibition gets busy----and you must enter and leave through...More

Visited during the Christmas lights display. It was absolutely beautiful! If possible, I would suggest visiting on a week night. The lines can be extremely long.

We visit each year to see the Christmas lights, which never disappoint! It is nice to be able to get out of car and walk among the lighted gardens, feel the "magic" of the Christmas feeling, a "must" for our family and visitors each year.

What is it like visiting while it's raining? Do the pathways tend to get messy or is it mostly hard surfaces like sidewalks? Thanks, I was thinking of visiting this weekend with a rain forecast.

Wow, what a great and helpful community! Thanks everyone. We also do have extra large umbrellas that guests can borrow in the rain if needed. Other tips: The Lora Robins Library (in the Kelly Education Center) has... More
