We were not impressed. Many vacant shops. Not much variety. Parking is poor/hard to find. Overmarket ‘antiques;’ we found none.

Perfect place to get all that you need, in a city setting and not "the mall". Eclectic and charming, this place eating joints and boutiques for the most discriminating shopper. From one end, to the other, it's packed with at least a half a day's...More

We spent a few hours in Carytown. We loved the small shops and great restaurants. Everyone was so friendly! What a shock from what we are used to. There is something for everyone here.

Great for a day trip. There are all kinds of shops and restaurants from one end of Cary to the other. The area has lots of character because of so much of the original buildings have been repurposed into thriving businesses. An interesting historical area...More

This is a nice area to stroll down and to check out the vintage shops and ambiance. We walked down from The Fine Arts Museum to check out the shops.

The area has everything you need, shops, restaurants and bars. They have alot of festivals. Check out Can Can fir cocktails and Richmond jewlers for some bling.

We had been walking through Richmond all day and wondered where all the people were... turns out, they’re all in carytown. Lots of shops and restaurants. One fav was Chop Suey books. Nice Main Street area with a lot of people hanging out.

This historic neighborhood contains a bunch of places to eat and drink, some quite good. Nicely restored old architecture. We had fun.

The answers provided are correct. I don't think any restaraunts allow dogs in. But, some shops will allow them. I know there is a dog pet treat shop that you and your dog can shop at.
