I tried out the canal cruise since I live in Richmond. It was okay for me. We have such young history in the United States compared to other parts of the world. So, I think this was a let down for me. The tour guide...More

The Guide, Mr. Cook, was very entertaining explaining the history of the locks and surrounding areas as we traversed the water way. 8$ well spent for 45 minutes.

Excellent family adventure. The tour guide was very informative with the history of Richmond. There were many birds and turtles to see.

This 40 minute excursion along the canal walk was full of Richmond history. We had a great time and our boat captain was very informative. This is a nice, slow journey through a piece of Richmond's past.

A nice little tour of the canal in downtown Richmond, VA. The captain was informative about the construction and history of the canal as the boat traversed first downstream and then upstream. The cruise wasn't as long as one might expect; as both ends of...More

The boat is crowded and slow, the views are limited. The guide is very good and covers the history of the canals and both the revolutionary and civil wars. I would not rush to do this but if you are in the area and have...More

I am afraid not Carie! The Riverfront Canal Cruises do not allow dogs onto the boat.
