Maymont is a 100-acre American estate, an extraordinary gift given to the community by James and Sallie Dooley who lived there from 1893 to 1925. Whether strolling in the gardens, touring the mansion or watching river otters play, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Amazing gem in Richmond! Many people think colonial when they visit Richmond, but Maymont is gorgeous example of the gilded age. The house is chock full of treasures. Our guide, Paula, was so informative and really made the tour fun/ we had several younger members in our group and she knew how to keep everyone interested and involved. The gardens... More

However, there is plenty to do without the house tour as long as the weather is nice enough to be outside. There are multiple gardens to walk... More

I always enjoy going here, and it is very relaxing. I always visit this park when I am in the area with my wife and kids.

A great place for a picnic. The only problem is, it's so big, and there aren't all that many buildings, if you get thirsty or... More

I grew up in this park, spent a lot of time here when it wasn't funded like it is now, with newer facilities etc. I love love the Italian Gardens and every bride should consider a wedding there. You have great walking, hiking, sightseeing, trees of huge size and old, many are not common to this area. This will remind... More

A few years ago Maymont started having concerts which made the place even better. But after all that it wasn't until me and my wife decided to... More
