Take a walk, a ride or a run down by the canal. Their are paths, tours, boat tours, great places to eat. You cannot go wrong. I love this area. Wished I lived closer!

Bring good walking shoes as you walk cobblestone, gravel, and paved paths. Lots of signs with history. Lots of restaurants along the way to stop at.

Nice walk along the James river and across. Very good exercise. Open space lots of artworks. River is good for canoeing, but I didn't dare. Good open space for games, exercise, history trip etc. Alone, with friends or family.

You can walk all the way to browns island and belle isle from the canal walk! It's nice to walk the dogs or a good place to bring family or friends from out of town.
