This place is a wonderful example of a farm circa 1860. The first Saturday of every month they do their Saturday Live event and have demonstrations of how the family lived at that time and also give house tours. The people working there are extremely knowledgeable and the house is beautiful. Most of the furnishings are original to the family... More

The summer farm animal displays and historical interpreters are great for the whole family If you like historic sites, they give a great tour of a simple historical house ( some displays are tailored to kids).A nice way to have a relaxing morning/afternoon. The farm/house site is at the very back of the park.

My wife and I took our daughters here years ago when they were children to experience what Christmas looked like during the Civil War. It was a cold day and the camp fires and those in the fireplaces in the house felt good. People in period garb with conversation from that time made for a lot of fun. Many years... More

We go here all the time. It has great paths to walk including the woods. Throughout the year there are activities for adults and children.

I live near Meadow Farm and visit probably 8x a year. It's fantastic. I would say it's the best gem in all of Richmond. The home is a historic pre-Civil war house with tour guides in costume and character who will take you through the home. They don't often offer tours of the home, but when they do it is... More

This entire park is quite large, lots of room to play, with a great kids playground, and a short walk to the historical area, museum and fields with animals.

I took my children, ages 2, 5, and 12, to the Meadow Farm Museum. We absolutely loved it! They could run wild on the trails and through the grass. They got to see the animals up close including sheep, chickens, a turkey, hogs (named George and Martha as they came from Mount Vernon), cows, horses, and sheep. We also saw... More

Bring a picnic! There's a huge playground near the entrance, and a pond for fishing. The big attraction here is the working farm and farmhouse. There are lots of farm animals to see (cows, pigs, sheep, turkeys, horses, BUNCHES of barn kitties). The main house holds tours sporadically throughout the year, where you will learn about life as a farmer... More
