I am not a cvil war buff, by any means, but this was a quick, well done and educational experience that anyone can enjoy.Kudos to the town of Manassas. It is in town, not out at the battle fields. Easy to get to. Enjoy a piece of our nation's very hard and tough years.

Small, well done, city owned museum. Staff friendly, knowledgeable. Museum exhibits are history of Northern Piedmont region of Virginia's colonial period to 20th century. Great gift shop, clean rest rooms. Free admission.

After a good lunch at a Portuguese restaurant we decided to visit the Town's Museum. It's well located outside of town with a good parking place. The artifacts inside are not many, but well preserved and with useful explanation to the visitors. The staff had some activities for the kids which were well appreciated.

We were greeted by the clerk and asked for our Zip code for the entry fee was zero. The guide was dressed in his Confederate Soldier, as we walked into the exhibit room he began talking us through the history of Manasses before the civil war using the blown up photographs up on the wall. He blended the history with... More

This Museum has a historic display from the local area during several periods of local history. There is also a wonderful gift shop with numerous local items. There are ornaments, books, Manassas clothing and Cat's Meow local art. This is a great place any time but try to go during special events such as Book Signings or First Fridays (a... More

This is an excellent small museum, There are chronological displays with stories and artifacts from pre-civil war to today. There is no charge, and the volunteer gave us an excellent introduction. Photography is allowed.

We really enjoyed the variety of subjects, and the African American historical display was educational in that I learned facts I had not known.. The volunteers were very helpful and friendly.

The Manassas Museum, which is now free, is a great place to learn about Civil War History. Allow 1-2 hours to see the exhibits and stop by the gift shop. The Museum is a quick 2 min walk from the Amtrak/VRE Rail Station where you can stop by the Visitor Center, -Mini-Rail Mueum, Waiting Room, and restrooms. Amtrak is a... More

The Manassas Museum is a little gem in the historic downtown and is a great spot to start sightseeing in town. There was a volunteer there that gave me a delightful tour of small museum, hitting all the high points. After my little tour, I watched a six minute video. The lady in the gift shop gave me some great... More
