Literary interest brings you to this house and museum located in Midtown, Atlanta. It is located approximately a 20 minute drive from the Atlanta History Center which sells a combined tour ticket. However, if you prefer to view only the Margaret Mitchell House and Museum, you can purchase that ticket directly at the Margaret Mitchell House without going to the... More

We took the 10:30 am tour (approx 35 minutes) with Margaret, a wonderful storyteller. She bought it all to life! Upstairs, there are photos of the premiere of the move that took place in Atlanta. If you think you would enjoy learning more about the author, the book, and the great Gone with the Wind movie, go here! We were... More

The little museum is nicely done and it's interesting to learn more about the live of Margaret. We experienced the people working there as very enthusiastic and happy to share all their stories about the house and the exhibitions.

If you are a Gone With the Wind fan then you MUST stop here! Being in the place where Margaret lived and wrote the majority of the book was a great experience in itself made better by the very informative tour guide who actually was named Margaret herself. My mother and i had a wonderful time and would 100% recommend... More

Reconstructive apartment where Margaret wrote her great book Gone with the Wind. A wonderful tour guide brought her personal story to life also. Pictures of Margaret, John, editions from foreign countries, movie memorabilia and the doorway to Tara, used in the movie added to this adventure. I had to buy her and John's biography.

Take a little time to visit the home of Margaret Mitchell. The rooms have been reconstructed sympathetically and really reflect the life she must have lived. From these small rooms grew a masterpiece. !

What a lovely little gem in Midtown Atlanta! Very interesting story of Margaret Mitchell and how she wrote and lived. I knew very little about her. The guide was very informative. Highly recommend if you have read the book or seen the movie, Gone With the Wind.

I discovered Gone With the Wind as a teenager and have been smitten since. When we planned our trip to Atlanta I couldn't believe that I would finally be able to visit 'the dump.'. The visit started with a mandatory guided tour with a very knowledgeable guide through the actual apartment. Pictures were allowed, and I found it best to... More

Very interesting, especilly for GWTW fans. But I'd recommend it to anyone intersted in history. Nice size for a quick visit as it's not too big.
