The home of the Atlanta Shakespeare Company, the Shakespeare Tavern Playhouse on Peachtree Street has an enchanting history and a prime location in downtown Atlanta. We are a professional theatre with food and drinks available before each performance (and don't forget the apple crisp at intermission!)

What a great experience! We were not quite sure what to expect since we have seen Shakespeare plays in England and have been leery of doing it here. I wish we had not waited so long to do so! We saw A Comedy of Errors....More

This is our second venture to the tavern. This was what our 15 year old requested for his birthday, so we happily obliged. The food was pretty good. My husband and I had the Irish Stew. There wasn’t a lot of lamb, definitely more potato,...More

I was in Atlanta for the evening and decided to take in a play at the Shakespeare Tavern. It is a dinner theater for the local Shakespearean Troupe. They were performing "Twelfth Night" which was not familiar to me. Evidently, Macbeth had just closed. Planning...More

We have attended many performances at the Shakespeare Tavern Playhouse and they have all been fabulous! Parking is convenient and available just across the street in the hospital parking deck. Dinner seating is a bit cramped, but the intimate setting for the play makes it...More

This is the ultimate Shakespeare comedy. You will laugh til you cry many times. The acting is absolutely right on. It has to be for this play. Several individuals were funny as heck. Been to their plays over the last ten years but this is...More

I took in "Twelfth Night" here right after Thanksgiving. I purchased tickets in the Box Seats. The venue is small so all seats are pretty good, but next time I will be sure to sit in the main section. Your tickets get you into a...More

Everytime I've been it's been an amazing experience! The food is wonderful (paid for separate from your ticket & eaten before the show) the employees are super-friendly, and the plays are always entertaining and a joy to watch. The performers interact with the audience too!...More

This was my first time seeing a play. Twelfth night was amazing. Very entertaining. I hope to go back to the tavern to see A Christmas Carol.

While I am not really into Shakespeare and rarely know what is going on, my husband loves it, and he had a wonderful time. I would probably have enjoyed a comedy more than Macbeth, but the acting was good, staging well-done, and over all a...More
