Wanted a down home bar with, live music, good whiskey and no sign of unpretentiousnous....This was it! Was introduced to this gem by a local who was gracious enough to escort us there. Swami Gone Bananas was playing...they were awesome!!! Thank you Ed!!!

-Great blues music. Had different guest singers, players...changed it up a little -EXTREMELY smoky, even with front door open -$10 cover charge, cash -Pool tables -Dancing -Parking limited -Decent size bar. Ordered bottled beer.

Popped in here on a solo visit to Atlanta and glad I did. Friendly staff and locals, had several interesting chats with various people, good beer and amazing music. Not knowing Atlanta at all was a bit concerned it would be miles out of town...More

Enjoyed the Allman Bros. Tribute Band and the obvious history that went along with this bar. The bartender was very attentive even with the crowd.

I wanted to experience real southern blues music and the Northside Tavern was my destination. If you're looking decor or comfort forget it, if you want real blues music with cheap drinks this is the right place. I'd far too many pitchers of Guinness but...More
