I dived with these guys this morning and loved it. Friendly people and professional setup. The water was cold as it’s nearly December but they provided a thick wetsuit with hood, gloves and boots so the water temp was fine. Good diving and a highly recommended company. Thanks guys!

What an amazing experience! My partner and I decided by way of recommendation to come here and experience the water bikes, and by far it was brilliant! Our guide who was called Rhys was a lovely guy who knew loads of information about the area and coastline and was really easy to talk to and get along with. Stunning location, fantastic tour and professional and friendly staff. Thank you and definitely would recommend to anyone in the area.

If you are looking for a Nice divecenter with english speakningen staff go here. The boat will pick you up at the beach and the equipment will be brought there by a small belt driven motorized thing. Diving is nice but a bit cold. I would choose same divecenter again.

My husband John and I dived at Openwater in La Herradura. We have dived in Almuñecar before and met some great teachers/dive leaders who have now moved to Openwater so we decided to follow them. We got a great welcome and were pleased to see our teachers Julian and Damiana again. Last year John needed to get his open water qualification before going to the Maldives so we popped over to get it. This year we really wanted to see the mola mola and I reckon we needed to get up to go for the earlier 9 o'clock dive to see them but bbq's and beer the evenings before prevented this as we are lucky enough to have friends to stay with. I am sure we would have seen it on the early dives. We saw loads of other fishes and animals including a tuna and many amazing octopus which John was happy about. We dived at Cerro Gordon the national park, and punta la mona. We had lovely dives the times were 1130 and 430 great times to have a slow breakfast with our friends and a long lunch sitting on the beach. We had a hire car and never had a problem finding free parking on the beach front mostly straight in front of the centre. The organisation was great and everyone was fantastically friendly and we have made loads of new friends. I need help when diving having had a new hip, a knee operation and 2 broken legs over the last 6 years and I could not have had more help. Even Carlos the swimmer helped me! What blew us away was that most people could speak English, the owner has an English mum, Anna at reception is English and most of the staff could speak English. They did not make us feel like outcasts as some places do, because we could not speak Spanish. It was the opposite as most people talked to us. We find this very important and I would say especially so for single divers who do not know who they could be buddied with. I could recommend this centre for single people as I was single until last year. Now I have my own buddy. The staff got to know everyone and put people of a similar level together. We will definitely be back in search of that mola mola, the temperature was great, the staff were all fantastic, the showers and changing facilities were good, the washing facilities for equipment was very good and I believe the after diving socialising was fantastic too, we didn't stay for that as we had to spend some time with our lovely friends. I love this area and fortunately John does too, I have been returning there for holidays and diving for 10 years after discovering the place after securing a teaching job at the local school. The dives are exciting and can be challenging but the leaders are expert and choose the locations very carefully. Thanks again to Julian, Damiana, Anna and Boyce (the owner). By the way Boyce can speak perfect English... He is a bit shy we were told. The other thing is that you can plan your holiday as there is great communication by email also Anna picks up the phone, she may start with Hola but can soon change to hello.

The dive centre is extremely well located right in the middle of the bay of La Herradura. Depending on what dive you are doing the boat either picks you up or you are transferred by the dive centre to the harbour or dive location. The facilities are the best that I have seen. The owner has been diving forever and you can tell that it has all been really well thought out. There is even a huge terrace area at the back with a BBQ where they also cook up some beautiful paellas in the summer time. This aspect of the dive centre makes it a great place, not just to do the hobby we love but to meet people and make friends too. The dive centre offers a very complete range of services which are all detailed on the website and the staff are really welcoming and friendly. I would definitely dive with Openwater La Herradura any and every time! Openwater La Herradura caters for any level but If you haven't dived before and are thinking about trying, this is a fantastic option because they have a huge amount of experience with learner divers. Learning begins in the classroom but soon takes you to see all the beautiful and on occasions, unique sights La Herradura has to offer. Oh, and don't worry about the language, English is spoken although you are welcome to practice your Spanish too!
