The town, the Anchovy Capital of Spain, is really quiet, absolutely typically Spanish, almost no tourists out of season, pleasant walks along the main promenade and the fishing port itself. There is the usual myriad of pleasant little cafes for sipping and people watching, equally many small restaurants that do really a good value Menu del Dia, plenty of delicatessens... More

We got the Villa Fulca from Laredo to Santona. The poster in the bus stop outside our accommodation is out of date and we arrived just as the boat was leaving so had to wait for the next one. The man at the port was friendly and helpful but spoke no English. We caught the boat at 2pm and it... More

We spent 10 days in Santona and I walked along the promenade every day. Lots of local people were out exercising themselves. Children enjoyed jumping in the sea and my son joined in with some local children doing this. A beautiful town.

We found the Paseo Maritimo to be quite lovely. Clean surroundings, fresh air and the possibility to cross the water over to Laredo by Ferry. It's not commercially developed as there are no bars or restaurants along the promenade. But there's a short walk to city center where you will find lots of coffee shops and restaurant to eat a... The promenade is over a mile long and very wide with plenty of seats, it is not commercially developed there being only one restaurant and two kiosks. There are plenty of good eating places in the picturesque old town.

Nice town with lots to see and do. Loverly walks around the town and along the seafront. Can catch a ferry to other local ports in good weather and a great cup of coffee in the bar attached to the bull ring.

Beautiful long promenade with busy fishing port at one end. Anchovies are caught & canned in abundance here. There is a ferry boat with takes you to Laredo just minutes away for just €3

It's not bad at all, but it is" another port". There's a pleasant esplanade, the tourist office people are really helpful. But we didn't stay long enough for me to give a clear review.
