FOR THE RECORD: a number of the reviewers here are not reviewing the actual Spruce Canyon Trail. Many of them are reviewing a very short paved trail that goes from the museum down to "Spruce Tree House". The overview heading of "THREE MILE FLAT TRAIL"...More

The Spruce Canyon trail was closed due to rock falls, however the overlook is easily accessible from the parking lot. It is close to restrooms, the cafe and a museum which is worth visiting as well.

This is the second time I've hiked this trail, I can't put my finger on it but there is just something about this canyon that calls to me. I love this place!

The Spruce Canyon Trail was about the only thing open on our trip to Mesa Verde. Still, it did not disappoint. The site is well maintained and the path was well cared for. I had a knee replacement 3 months ago and this trail was...More

This was the only trail open when we went, and it was quite nice. Several reviewers are calling this an 'easy' trail and 'nice and flat'. Your mileage may vary, but I always worry about calling something with 500-foot elevation changes 'easy'. I was hiking...More
