Walking or take a boat nice river

We have taken a boat and walked around. Lots of people visiting from other places and countries. Great history if you get a chance to explore.

We have great memories of renting canoes on misty mornings and rowing the Concord up to the North Bridge. Nice break from walking tours if you have an extended stay.

My wife and I were visiting the battle site at North Bridge which spans this calm looking river and nice looking river. While we did not have time to spend time on the river with one of the operators, we did enjoy the setting and did see some folks having a picnic lunch on its banks. Several canoe and kayak... More

I put in at the Lowell Road boat launch and kayaked up to the Great Meadows Wildlife Refuge. There are sandy beach areas at the North Bridge and at the refuge to stop and stretch your legs. The water was very calm the day I was there and I saw plenty of birds and turtles along the route.

Had a great kayak with my daughter and her boyfriend while they were back for a visit from MT. Foliage was near peak and the trip would have been perfect, going from the Middlesex Canal Museum to the Rt. 3 bridge overpass, but for the strong winds that were gusting that day. Would have gone down to Bedford and back... More

I love grabbing some cheese and crackers at the Cheese Shop and heading to the North Bridge nearby. Very pretty, very peaceful. A nice relaxing stroll after and my soul is refreshed. If you want more of a workout, rent a canoe on Rt. 62 and paddle the river to the North Bridge.

Lovely, serene, gentle, relaxing, and very historic where The Old North Bridge crosses its banks. We saw one couple rowing on the river, which really looked enticing. Wish we'd had time. A picnic, a glass of wine, and your significant other - it would be a bit of heaven. This whole area of Massachusettes is ever so pretty.

We paddled the Concord River on Labor Day. It's a nice place to spend an afternoon. First we went left from the boat ramp (Lowell Rd north of Concord Center), but there were a lot of people on that section (it was a holiday and a beautiful day). After a while, we turned around and headed to the Old North... More
