We really enjoyed the Nathaniel Scott Key statue and memorial, perusing old tombstones, and the markers of Confederate soldiers. This park is nicely kept up and peaceful. If you are in Frederick, it takes less than 45 minutes to see it all.

Great historical cemetery in the Frederick area. If you are an American history buff or a Civil War fan, this should be on your list of places to visit.

It is the burial place of Francis Scott Key, easily found at the main entrance. In addition, soldiers from the civil war and others are marked. It is an old cemetary, still in use today. A map of sections is located at the main entrance.

Just south of downtown Frederick, this imposing graveyard sits on the side of a hill rolling gently down to a restful vale. The chief feature, a monumental bronze statue of Francis Scott Key, marks his burial site. Several intriguing bronze markers are placed in tribute to this highly accomplished individual who contributed such a huge portion of our national psyche.... More

This is a beautiful cemetery in historic Frederick. It is located just of I-70. Francis Scott Keys grave is located as soon as you drive in. There is a small area just off his grave that pays tribute to him as well as restrooms and a computer for research. The cemetery is very well maintained and contains a lot of... More

Before arriving in Frederick, we had no idea the Francis Scott Key was buried here. We loved the monument and the history described behind it. Also in the cemetery, is the Confederate section where many Johnny Rebs are buried, which I felt was very nice.

This is a lovely, peaceful cemetery just a few blocks from the historic part of Frederick. They take care of both Union and Confederate deceased, and I very much appreciate that.

I had been traveling throughout the area and had a note with just the cemetery name on it. Couldn't remember why I had this location, but I love OLD cemeteries, so since there was time I put it in the GPS, what a very pleasant surprise. Wish the weather had been a bit nicer for more exploring.

As cemeteries go Mt. Olivet is in a unique class of having hundreds of years of history on it's grounds. A worthwhile spot to visit with a local guide to tell the stories of those who are buried there.

Went on a ghost tour walk and it was a great way to learn about the city's rich history. It's a beautiful cemetery and well maintained.
