Fabulous place to visit for just 3 euros an adult or 2 euros for a senior. Wonderful views from it, with cafe and toilets on site. It's a shame there isn't any information in English, and with Valenciano being the main language, it was hard to understand the information. But we enjoyed it nevertheless. Well worth a visit.

We enjoyed walking around the castle and the views from the top back down to the Port and also out over the town are spectacular. A must do in Denia.

We went on a Monday morning towards the end of Sept 2022. It was a rainy day. Glad we continued. The castle was originally used as a citadel, an Arab palace. The walk along the Castle walls reward you with beautiful views of the town and harbour below. There were hardly any tourists when we were there which made it all the more fun and we could take our time taking all the photos we wanted. There is an underground tunnel that leads you to the town below.

The last time we were in Denia was 1987, and the castle ruins were not in particularly good condition. Since then a lot of conservation work has been done, along with safety railings, and information about the history and archaeology of the castle.

The access to the Denia castle is not so easy to find, but once you get there, it is a pleasant visit with nice views. It is a pity that no explanations at all are given in English.

We really enjoy walking up here on summer evenings. Great views of Denia. The museum is small but interesting. You need to park done in the town and walk up to the castle.

Beautiful views from the castle, but explainations lacking in English - using Valenciano rather then Castellano (Spanish) makes it difficult for a visitor. Museum is lovely, an enjoyable visit.

We did visit the castle and it was a nice experience.
We were 6 people, one senior, two adults, three children (16-12-8).
We did make the tour during late afternoon/early evening so the heat was not to present.
Recommend good walking shoes.

Only 3 euros entry and you can wander around the old castle on multiple levels including some wonderful viewing areas of the town, surrounding hills and port / sea. Little cafe selling ice creams and toilets at the top. Nice place to have a picnic (as we did).

Are the castle grounds pushchair friendly?

Hi, I think it would be difficult to manoeuvre a pushchair around the castle, its mainly rubble underfoot and different sections with steps etc, I wouldn’t recommend it if your child isn’t of walking age

What are the opening times of the castle? I saw on a website its open during the day but on a flyer it says it closes early in the afternoon and opens again after 17h. Can anyone tell me if its open all day or not? I want to go here this June
