The trail offers a multitude of views of the memorial and is a must if you visit Mt. Rushmore. There are a lot of stairs, but you can take them slowly if you need to - in other words, there is plenty of room for people to pass. Enjoyed the sculpters room as well.

After a day in the car this was a walk we were excited about. It was evening and refreshing. October was a low key time to go. Many shops in town were closed but we went to see the monument and that was in full swing. Great gift shop and surroundings.

This trail ran near to MR. It was a well designed feature showing all the state flags flying at full mast. The trail ran to the forefront of the MR mountain. The weather that day was sublime.

Every time I go to the Black Hills, it's almost vital to stop at Mt. Rushmore. Looking at the faces every time may get boring, but the Presidential Trail never does. There is always something different when you walk around it. You get up close to the monument. Get a little lost. And get a lot of exercise. The last... More

I wanted to take the Presidential Trail while visiting Mt. Rushmore. If you take the entire look you will have to climb a couple of hundred stairs and may have to rest. It is worth the hike! You get up close and personal with these four presidents and there are many super photo opportunities!

A must-walk to see the presidents up close and to learn about their life. I advise to talk the walk going left, so you pass the presidents first. This way the stairs aren't that hard, because you mostly go down hill. It can be extremely hot so bring lots of water and a hat.

great hike, really cool to see the stone that was blown out by all they dynamite. The stones have honey combed drill marks where they placed the dynamite inside. Pretty cool. Hike is average IMHO, most anyone could do it.

This trail takes you right too the bottom of the scree field of rocks blasted from the mountain to create the sculptures. Nice alcoves with history of the Presidents. Visited in late October so we had minimal crowds, but I can imagine it being full of people during the summer. Do it if you can!

It was short trail that brought us closer to the monument and gave us different views of the sculptures. It was a pleasant and enjoyable stroll and gave us the opportunity to appreciate the monument.
