Awesome walk. Left side easy walk and accessible, the right side more challenging for a total of .8 miles I believe. Don't forget the elevation is approx 5300 feet air a little thinner

This is a taxing walk for anyone who is not quite fit or able. Lots of deep steps and inclines. Best done early in the day due to heat too. Doesn't really vary the view of Stones but ok walk.

Don't miss the Presidential Trail! You won't believe how close you can get to the monument. It really draws you into the experience. There's also the Sculpture's Workshop and a neat vantage point between two rocks. Most people shouldn't have a problem walking the path.

Wonderful trail that gets you very up close to the monument. You basically go right under it and can see up their nostrils! It can be a bit strenuous at times, so keep that in mind if you tire easily. But it is truly an...More

Great trail that gets you up close and some great pictures. There are some quite a few stairs, but we took our time and had no problem.

It was a good little walk around Mount Rushmore but it is not recommended that you take strollers on it because there are quite a few stairs some up and down.

My grandson and I took this walk. We started on the left which was the easy start. Lots of paved pathway and decking. As you start on the return that part of the path is more rugged stone stairs and paths.

Have a nice walk through nature and learn more about the four presidents of the memorial along the way. The placard for each president offers a unique/framed view of that president's bust in the sculpture. The walk is not strenuous or long, definitely worth doing...More

Depends on your stamina. I recommend clockwise, but either way works fine. My reasoning is that clockwise takes you to the close in viewing points sooner. And sometimes you will see mountain goats along that section of... More
