I wanted to take the Presidential Trail while visiting Mt. Rushmore. If you take the entire look you will have to climb a couple of hundred stairs and may have to rest. It is worth the hike! You get up close and personal with these...More

A must-walk to see the presidents up close and to learn about their life. I advise to talk the walk going left, so you pass the presidents first. This way the stairs aren't that hard, because you mostly go down hill. It can be extremely...More

It was short trail that brought us closer to the monument and gave us different views of the sculptures. It was a pleasant and enjoyable stroll and gave us the opportunity to appreciate the monument.

You have to go on the trail when you visit the memorial. Its only a half mile trail so its absolutely little kid friendly. You get some amazing views of Rushmore at different angles.

Very informative and you get to see a different view than from the platform. Take elevator if you are wheelchair bound.

This is a short 1/2 mile hike at the base of Mount Rushmore. There are stairs, so take your time. Very nice for families & it goes right by the restrooms.

Depends on your stamina. I recommend clockwise, but either way works fine. My reasoning is that clockwise takes you to the close in viewing points sooner. And sometimes you will see mountain goats along that section of... More
