My 5 yo was thrilled to see "the heads" as she calls it. The view is awesome and the museum is just a nice bit of historical perspective. It felt good to get a little patriotic boost in these politically tense times. On a nice winter sunny day there were a few others enjoying the memorial but you had lots... More

This place will take your breath away. Monstrous in size, this is a fitting memorial to some of the greatest men this nation has had the privilege to have as President.

I've been to Mount Rushmore twice now. Once during the day, which offered a great view of the faces as well as lots of information from buildings throughout the park. It was extremely crowded and there were people everywhere, but the first time you actually see this up close is amazing. The second trip, we were driving through and it... More

I've visited Mount Rushmore during peak summer time and wow, so much different in winter but for the better. At 9 am we only saw three other people. It was so beautiful and quiet. Most of the shops and trails are closed so if your a first time visitor that might be disappointing. But the visitor center was open and... More

First time visit in the early part of June, this place was amazing, great history and a wonderful tribute to some of our great leaders! This was an awesome place for the family! The lighting at night along with the tribute to our soldiers was very emotional! Word of advice the ticket you purchase for parking is good for a... More

Was amazed at the beauty of this monument. The trails leading up to the base were very clean and well maintained.

it is just disrespectful to the Native American's heritage to have this 'American Icon' carved into a sacred site in which the Native's presented immense courage, bravery and determination as they were forcibly removed. A history that is sadly not recognised or spoken about as often as it really ought to be.

It was so awesome to get to see Mt. Rushmore. The museum was very informative with videos & interactive devices (kids get to ignite the dynamite toy). Be sure to stay for the closing ceremony. It was such a respectful tribute to America and our military veterans. They had them all come to the stage and say their name, office... More

We visited Mount Rushmore twice in one day. The first visit in daylight was much as we expected and well worth it, great views of this amazing national memorial, informative visitor centre and a busy but very good restaurant – very highly recommended, in fact it is a must if you are in the area. We were encouraged to attend... More

Mount Rushmore has always been on my bucket list and I was not disappointed! $10 to park the car but the monument is free to visit. There is also a museum/exhibition theatre that is also worth visiting explaining how the mountain was created, worth watching and again all free! A wonderful huge gift shop too! It is an absolute must!!
