Family tour

Great historical tour. Interesting details and facts to be learned. The tour of the slave quarters was the most interesting part to me. So many interesting facts to absorb.

I visited with my husband and pointed out a broken window at the main house Melrose. The young lady informed me that the window has been broken out for over 5 months and it has been reported repeatedly and even the superintendent is aware. This is a museum, priceless artifacts and it is not protected. What a shame no one... More

In my view the house itself was not too impressive (in comparison with other historic homes there), But the whole lot of land adjacent to it was nice place for a walk. The house was kind of too dark

Guided tours are conducted by knowledgeable National Park Service guides on the hour, except at noon. The $10 adult admission fee is reasonable, but bring cash because credit cards are not accepted, nor are America the Beautiful passes. The tour lasts about 45 minutes and takes you through this antebellum mansion that has been beautifully restored and preserved with 85%... More

Time seems to stop when visiting the antebellum homes of Natchez. Any one can imagine what it was like back in the day. Tours daily during Spring Pilgramage.

Melrose is beautifully preserved and contains original furnishings. The grounds are beautiful and the dependency buildings are still in tact.

I've always loved touring this mansion the most - have toured it more than a dozen times since 2000. Must say I'm disappointed in the color they have painted the outside, it just doesn't look right.

Love the restoration work the NPS is doing here, not just the revival of the original faux marble finish on the house but the grounds and gardens as well.

I think if you have time for just one extended stop make it this one and drive by the other antebellum homes. The Natl Park service has been able to retain in amazing condition the original interior and furniture. You will even see the original flooring and then the park service has reproduced the pattern in the areas where you... More

Was a jewel this is. Barney gave us the most entertaining tour I have ever had. He wove a story with the tour that was amazing, sharing the life of slave as well as owner!
