The wooden houses in Amercian style was the recommandation in our guidebook, but the end of Punta Gorda was a average place. Local people were swimming in the water. There was some entertainment, but it wasn't opened. I think it might be romantic in the...More

Punta Gorda is at the end of a peninsula and has several large houses and lots of smaller ones. The bay is beautiful and worth a short visit.

We were driven out to Punta Gorda on our tour of Cienfuegos. The area was so flat it looked like the land was barely above sea level. There is a new hotel serving ice cold beer that was really good on this hot day. And...More

It is a long walk from town especially if the weather is hot. Better to take a pedicab or motorbike taxi. Nice views from the point looking over the bay.

This is a nice place for a stroll and meal. Take a walk there late afternoon, have a drink in the rooftop bar of the Palacio de Valle (good live music), and then have dinner in a seafood restaurant (see, for example, Finca del Mar)....More
