On an expedition cruise we made a stop here. Interesting exhibits of the local culture and history. The town isn't too big, so take your time and enjoy what they offer

Worth a visit while you're in Ilulissat. It gives a good idea of the XIX century Arctic exporers, especially Knud Rasmussen, and history of the city and surroundings. Many information are in Greenlandic/Danish only (e.g. documentaries on screens) so it was quite disappointing to be...More

The museum is not big, and it is a bit expensive (although everything in Greenland is expensive). However, there is a lot there, and some really interesting material about the history of Greenland. Worth spending an hour there.

I just saw a part of this museum on the northern lights tour with WoG. Whilst it looked quite informative, I did not see any information in English so not for us....
