I just saw a part of this museum on the northern lights tour with WoG. Whilst it looked quite informative, I did not see any information in English so not for us....

The museum is situated in the house where the great explore Knud Rasmussen was born and offers a very interesting exhibition out him. The entrance fee is 60 DKR which is a bit too much in my opinion.

I took time to visit this museum while in Ilulissat. It was the home of Knud Rasmussen, a famous explorer. I found the outside of building beautiful - like a postcard. Inside there are three levels. The first has a little shop where you buy your tickets. At 60kr, I found the price steep but then you should never convert... More

Wonderful little museum in the child home of the famous Danish polar researcher Knud Rasmussen. Half of the museum relates to him, and the rest is divided into an exhibition about the history of the city, among other things, relating to the industrial developments including closing of a close by coal mine and finally about the early settlements 2500 ago... This nice little museum tells a bit of Knud Rasmussen's story. I think it's a nice museum.. they have all the signage also in english making it easy for me as a non danish speaker to enjoy the exhibition. It's not super big but one could spend easily an hour here. The entrance ticket also gives you access to the... More

Visited this little place on our first day in Ilulissat, not expecting much. The museum is actually located within the famed Knud Rasmussen's original home, which explains the great portion of the exhibition dedicated to his life and great voyages across the Arctic. It really is something, how these ethnographic adventures were conducted back then. The museum includes information in... More
