I love a tour where you get to smell, taste and feel things, and this tour did not dissapoint. It was so much fun watching the process and walking through the garden tasting and smelling various things. We got to try all of the prpducts available in the store. Definitely worth the $10. Sergio was absolutely fantastic and it was... More

Very informative and fun. I think I've done it twice now. And will probably do it again when I return.

We went with the family for lunch. It is a fairly large restaurant with tables inside and out. Not very cosy though, when you only see tables and not the greenery that Mindo has. Even though outside tables have better view, we decided to eat inside because it was getting cold and raining. Food is fine with a friendly service.... More

The El Quetzal de Mindo Chocolate Tour is $10 per person. It's a very complete tour of the process of chocolate from tree to bar. The tasting part of the tour was fun and very tasty. We were encouraged to experiment.

Hi Maria, I really appreciate you taking the time to post a review of our tour and we are really happy that you think it was "great". I just want to comment on the price of the tours. Until we raised the price it was really difficult to attract and maintain excellent multi-lingual tour guides. Since we started paying more... More

Did you know that raw chocolate fruit tastes like a lychee? Me neither!! But now I do! The tour was fascinating, and is one of the few places where you can see the entire chocolate process from growing the trees to eating chocolate brownies. My family and I have done several chocolate tours... in Switzerland, France, Barcelona, and in the... More

Even though it is quite expensive ($10 p.p.) we really enjoyed the chocolate tour. Our guide Sergio was very knowlegdable and even spoke a little Dutch. We started with a taste of the ingredients and then got a tour in the garden, were we saw lots of fruits. Next we went to the showrooms of the little chocolatefactory and afterwards... More

Hello Yoicb, I just wanted to respond to your comment that our tour is pricey. We increased our price recently because we have the best tour guides in Mindo! We need to attract and retain multilingual guides who are good at what they do. We are really happy with the work that they do and we hope to keep them... More

The only coffee place in Mindo we could find. Doubles as a chocolatier. Wish we could have joined at chocolate tour. Between the hostel across the street and the Quinoa place next door, we had all the basics.

The tour was great and I like the fact that it's artesanal and they only use natural ingridients for their products! I'm from switzerland and we are famous for our milk chocolate but we dont grow cacao here so it's great to see the process and taste the fresh product! George was a great tour guide and the chocolate tasting... More
