Great little spot in Mindo. The guide who took us around was really informative, showing us the different stages Fromm butterfly eggs to caterpillars butterflies. There is also a hummingbirds garden which was is amazing.

English/Deutsch/Castellano I went here on my own during my stay in Mindo and spent a very relaxed morning. The entry is $5 and there is a tent with many beautiful butterflies that won't hesitate to land on you and a little terrasse with a roof and hammocks from which you can watch an abundancr of colibris feeding. Nach $5 Eintritt... More

The sign said they open at 9.30am and I waited until 9.50am but no one was there, so I went to Mariposa de Mindo just outside of town which was a great experience. Later the same day I came back again and there was a lady at the gate. She took my $5 and let me inside. I didn't receive... More

$5 for the combined hummingbird, orchid and butterfly experience (rather than paying for these individually around town). It's mainly butterflies though - average garden and can't see the hummingbirds up close.

On my first trip to Mindo, I paid to see the hummingbirds at Hostal El Descanso, and the butterflies at the mariposario. Both were lovely, but I got the same experience here for only one entrance fee! They have butterflies, hummingbirds, and lots of plants and a pond to enjoy. Plus, this place is a short walk in town, so... More

Nathaly Butterfly Garden had some varieties of butterflies that I haven't seen at other establishments near Mindo and this was really appreciated. There are many varieties of orchids as well, but you really need a knowledgable guide to show you the intricacies of each and every plant, especially if you know nothing about orchids. To the untrained eye, like mine... More

There is a long, potholed dirt road that leads there. It is slow going. Almost better for a Jeep. They only allow so many people into the butterfly houses at a time, so you might have to wait. There are hummingbird feeders near the entrance, so they provide entertainment and photo opportunities galore. I took more shots of hummingbirds than... More

An amazing place all info on butterflies in one place. Just sit and enjoy, the staff give you some banana to put on your hands and the butterflies rest on your hands.

Ive seen things that were more interesting for free. After you have been there for 10 minutes and taken a couple of pics your pretty much done.

Maybe because it was raining, we were the only ones there, so we could really relax and take our time getting lots of pictures of hummingbirds and butterflies. The orchids were mostly not very impressive, but there are a few different (and gorgeous) types of butterflies and hummingbirds, and there's a nice little viewing area with hammocks for the latter....
