Great for walking - not as crowded with dog walkers and kids as other beaches like Orewa. Lovely white sand. You can start at the southern end where there is a small parking area and walk the length but have to come back the same way unless you want to follow the wooden walkways and ogle the expensive beach houses.... Huge sand beach with a great surf club and parking close by. We stopped just for a look because of time but nice access to warm water.

Ok a cyclone hit whilst we were staying here. But we got in the warm sea from the beach. There few to no people and we stayed in a luxurious Bach through family friends. Had a great time and created some nice memories walking the beach and swimming. Surf is good fun for young kids too. Coffee shop is nice... More

The beach is nice: long strip of white sand on the blue ocean. But there are so many fine white sand beaches in the Northland, surrounded by stunning, wild, spectacular natural lanscapes. Here instead behind a narrow line of low dunes there's a whole town of newly built houses in a cold contemporary style, all in the same non-colors (black,... More

Omaha was not as easy to visit before this supermarket by the beach. Now you can buy groceries and just about anyhting you would need besides icecreams. Great service being open long hours which shows up many NZ businesses which close most of the time. Thanks for being there!

Love this beach ! Clean and beautiful , getting busier by the day with day trippers and Bach owners . A stunning place to walk and the swimming is varied with tide and wind affecting the either flat calm or great body boarding . If visiting be aware of dog laws if taking your pet as the northern end has... More

Great beach and patrolled during the summer so safe for families. White sand but sadly today a little windy and no surf.

Our family has been holidaying at Omaha Beach for over 15 years and would put it as one of NZs top ten beaches, if not one of the worlds top locations. Beauty golden sand and a variety of waves and surf each day. Able to get a swim any time of the day. Safe for kids under supervision. Dolphins can... More

Clean white sand, great fishing of the rocks, surf life guards on duty, playground for the kids, park to picnic , clean toilets and showers and a small group of shops for the essentials. What more do you need?!
