Lovely trek through the rainforest however the paddocks and river stream weren't that interesting. There wasn't much chance to trot or canter on the horses but we did do a little bit. The tour guides were lovely. We also went on a horse riding trek when if was raining and we were absolutely drenched by the time we got home,... More

I booked the horse riding through the hostel I was staying at. Was picked up from the hostels and then was the only one in the ride. It's quite pricey but definitely worth it. The guide was very friendly and laid back, the horse was beautiful and calm, and the scenery was lovely.

We booked 2 hours ahead, turned up 15 minutes early, waited 45 minutes so waited 1 hour in total. We did the 1.5 hour trek which cost $580 for our family of 4, with no discount for children like some places we had enquired about in Wanaka. The horses were well-behaved and gentle and the scenery of the glacial moraine... More

We drove past the yard on the way to the Fox Glacier Helihike. On the way back to our hotel we stopped at the yard to inquire about the possibility of going on a trek before we left the area. The lady we spoke to was very friendly, and said that she could either take us out for a trek... More

We saw the ad and called for the next day. They booked us for a tour immediately. We were in our honeymoon and my wife never rode an horse. The three girls offered us an unforgettable experience.

Our girls really wanted to go horse riding since the helicopters weren't flying due to bad weather. When we arrived noone greeted or introduce themselves. I hadn't been on a horse for about 30 yrs and should have left it that way. I had in pain my knees pretty much straight away. I thought it would ease but didn't and... More

What a magical 2 hour ride! Booked last minute and highly recommend this to anyone visiting Franz Josef. I am an inexperienced rider, my husband a novice and both need were catered to by Chloe. It was such a beautiful 2 hours spent. We would head back to Nz just to do it all over again. Thank you Chloe!

Even though our trek time was delayed by about 45 minutes, this activity did not disappoint. Really enjoyed getting to know Chloe and her amazing horses!! The team was awesome for our 6 person late afternoon trek. They horses are beautiful and very well mannered. Would have appreciated a reminder about a potty stop PRIOR to boarding for the tour.... My boyfriend and I went on the 2 hour ride with Chloe this afternoon and loved it! The ride is nice -- you walk through a rain forest trail for a bit before heading out to a rocky road which leads you to a great view of the glacier (on days it isn't too cloudy!). Chloe was super friendly and... More
