The house is very pretty- got to tour the basement, which didn’t have much in it, the ground floor/main level, the upstairs/bedrooms (they weren’t completely finished). Then they let us know for $10 MORE we can tour the 3rd floor above that, but it was...More

They call this historic home the Palace of the South, and it’s easy to see why. I shopped here to break up my trip from Atlanta to Savannah. The home features beautiful woodworking, painting, floors, paintings & sculptures that show the three families that called...More

My wife and I have visited many historic homes, but our experience was incredible. Lot's of times you are limited to how many areas you can see, but there is much to see here. Pretty incredible looking at furniture that is 150+ years old. Jeremey...More

I thought it was quite interesting how the food was hung from the basement ceiling, to help keep rodents away from it. This is a well restored period house.

During the most excellent one hour tour given by the folks at the Visitors Center, they recommended the Hay House Tour so we did. The Hay House tour lasts an hour with a cost of $11 and is well worth the time and expense. It...More

There are not many places in the US where you can visit and tour an old home like the Hay House. Alone, the size of the doors are worth seeing.

Michael is correct. The tours are hourly. There is a $4 extra charge to see the upper levels or $20 at certain times for the "behind the scenes" tour. All very worth it.
