Duane & Barry

I have always wanted to stop and see their graves. It was 5 minutes off of the Interstate. Found a you tube video that took us right to their graves.

I've visited this Historic Cemetery 3 times over the last 8 years and absolutely LOVED my past 2 visits. This recent one however left me ANGRY and disappointed. WEEDS atop the burial plots, grounds had NOT been mowed as they once spotlessly were, lovely natural pond areas had overgrown to the point that they were BARELY recognizable, and downed limbs... We visited here to see some of the Allman Brothers history and were highly impressed with the scenery, topography and unique headstones. By far, this was the most unique cemetery I've ever visited. A work of caution, however; the side roads are VERY narrow and curvy, so I'd advise against driving a large vehicle through there.

In Macon, they treat their dead better than the living: this cemetery is lovelier than any park in Macon. Too bad. If you have only one day in Macon, check it out.

Great place to stroll away an afternoon. Lots of history by the riverside. From war to couple famous people etc. Beautiful landscape.

We spend quite a bit of time both driving and walking through this HUGE cemetery. So many of the grave stones are flat on the ground and many with information on the lives of those intered. We really enjoyed our visit to this well kept cemetery

I'm a huge Allman Brothers Band fan. Rose Hill is worth a few hours of your time if you are in Macon! Visit Duane & Berry for a bit, then make sure you see the nearby graves of Elizabeth Reed and Little Martha who inspired some of Duane's best songs!

Rose Hill Cemetery is a spectacular cemetery to visit if you are into cemeteries. The rolling hills make this place a photographer's dream. If you take photos in the valleys, the entire photograph is filled with cemetery views. This historic landmark is unlike any other cemetery I've ever seen. Just beautiful.

This is such a wonderfully interesting cemetery stroll-- beautiful, peaceful, interesting historical, nice connections to recent culture, and on and on. Try to do one of the guided tours conducted by Jim Barfield before you start visiting, and you will, on your own.

Beautiful well taken care of cemetery. The history abounds here if you like looking at the beautiful stones. A must to see and enjoy sitting and listening to wildlife too.
