My family took the private Step on Tour with Jamie Weatherford as our tour guide. His wealth of knowledge about the music scene was amazing, and his passion for Macon and its musical history was contagious. We all HIGHLY recommend taking this tour and enjoy soaking it all in. Appropriate for all ages...Look forward to going on the tour again.

Jessica Walden was our guide, so we not only got the history of Macon music but also her personal memories and family stories. She really needs to write a book, with lots of old photos, about Macon's blues, pop and rock past. At $10.00 per person, the tour is a bargain. Our group on Friday night was about 15-20 strong.... We enjoyed our tour with Jessica so much four years ago, we returned to Macon and brought more family to enjoy the tour with us! Our tour guide, Rex, was extremely enthusiastic and very knowledgeable about Macon’s early history, Civil War history, Civil Rights history and music heritage. The tour can be designed to suit your available time and interests.... More

We had a tour with Jamie last week. What a wealth of knowledge! Not only did we receive a history of music in Macon, we learned so much more about the city itself. Jamie even took us to the Rose Hill Cemetary and showed us things that we would never, ever found on our own. We would highly recommend this... More

We, four seniors, had an excellent walking tour with Rex Dooley, our guide. The two hour tour lasted about 2.5 hours due to our questions and Rex's enthusiasm for the topic. He grew up in Macon and participated in the events that occurred since the 50's.......and I think he loved every minute of it. If you are interested in rock... More

Our guide was Ruth Sykes. She is a life-long resident of Macon and knows the music scene in depth. On our tour, we ran into Otis Redding's son and then his grandson at different locations. The tour began downtown at The Rookery bar/restaurant. Ruth traced the development and interactions of stars such as Otis Redding, Percy Sledge, The Allman Brothers,... More

We did the Friday night and Saturday morning tours and thoroughly enjoyed both of them. We learned so much about R and B and southern rock. Rex and Jamie (our guides) are passionate about their city and have excellent stories. Highly recommended.

Focusing on Macon's quite unique history around rhythm and blues as well as rock and roll eras, this walking tour is not limited to music fans only. The tour will take you through beautiful Macon streets as it features sites and first-hand stories that have been pivotal in careers of artists such as The Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Marshall Tucker...
