Amazing views

This is a nice place to stop and spend a few minutes to take in the views. Not much else to do in February. You can stroll along the beach for a little while, too.

This place was so beautiful. We saw antelope, bison, rabbits, and birds galore. I am from the South and we simply don't have scenery like this. There is a nature museum/ gift shop where you can learn more about the resident animals. I went with a friend but will be back with my family! There is a fair amount of... More

Oh how I love this place on the planet. If you want a peaceful place to get grounded there is something very special and the energy of this lake and the Park that is so well preserved. You won't be disappointed if you go there - unless your looking for Vegas - then you will for sure. Tranquility at it's... More

If you want to have a better experience visiting the Great Salt Lake then go to Antelope Island and go to the Beach side. You can view the Lake from the Saltair but their is no beach you will want to swim from. Because the salt is so high in the lake it kills any fish that end up in... More

I generally get excited about seeing new places and things, and can find something inspiring about just about anything. This was a tough one. Being such a large lake and with such history when you study the country...I guess I expected something more....? Its kind of pretty. Its stinky. I know people do, but I wouldn't want to swim in... Nice drive while seeing the Great Salt Lake. Loved the information stations telling about the history of the park along the way. Saw tons of bison.

It's so far out of the way it's easy to miss. They don't advertise it like they should. We stumbled on it, literally. In the background are the hideous copper mines that are polluting the air and the water. Disgusting.

If you want to just see the Lake for personal sake, take I-80 West from SLC to exit 104, the Frontage Road, pass by the Great Saltair hall (not worth a picture) and go into the marina where there are facilities. Not really too much to see however, there is a nice little walk out point, but it's more hype... More

A very helpful lady at my hotel recommended I visit the lake that gives SLC it's name - so I headed to the Marina of Great Salt Lake State Park. It is roughly a 20 minutes car journey from downtown SLC and you need to self pay a $3 entry fee for a standard car - higher for larger vehicles,... More
