Oh I love the opera and I really really love the Utah Opera!!! They offer world class performances with internationally acclaimed performers all in the gloriously historic rich newly renovated Capitol Theater. From the set design, the costumes, and the music you will be transported to another time and place! Carmen, Turandot, Madame Butterfly just to name a few. Either... More

I have seen this opera twice before and always enjoy the degree of energy and humor in its staging. The music has always been very energetic and fulfilling. The Utah Opera's version of the Marriage of Figaro did not once disappoint in all those things I love about this Mozart opera. We were able to secure great seats for opening... More

Utah Opera produces four operas each season, usually in October, January, March and May in a beautiful, recently refurbished opera house. We've been subscribers for many years and performances get better every season. The production of Cosi Fan Tutte, set in the 1920's, which we saw last week was our third and by far the best Cosi. If you're fortunate... More

Capitol Theatre is always such a lovely place to view an opera, though as a plus size woman the chairs are a bit small. The performance was great and we had such a lovely time. Ticket prices were good, though if you buy the cheap seats do it WAY in advance to get better seats. We paid 18 $ and... More

I'm not exactly a high brow -- I have season tickets to Grizzlies Hockey and to the Utah Opera. And the opera never disappoints for great entertainment. Even non-classical fans would be delighted with the acting and fantastic sets. And oh! The music. Outstanding Every. Single. Time.

This was my Mother-in-law's first opera and she couldn't stop raving about how much she enjoyed it. We both laughed, listened to the music, and had a wonderful evening. Thank you.

We've been going for three seasons now, and have never been disappointed in a production. "Cosi fan Tutti" was visually intriguing, funny as could be, and full of gorgeous singing. Can hardly believe how lucky we are to live in a mid-size city with such great opera, not to mention first-class symphony and ballet as well. We see many more... More

We have been season subscribers for a few years. We have never been disappointed in a production of the Utah Opera. We especially enjoy the attention to detail, fine musicianship, great sets and fabulous costuming. We really, really enjoy the pre-show lecture beginning an hour before curtain. Currently it is held in a room in the new ballet building. We... More

Cossi Fan Tutte was sensationally good--this from a long-time Mozart fan and regular opera-goer both in Utah and elsewhere. When modern-dress was the announced staging this time, we thought, "Oh, not again--another cover-up for poor casting, poor realization." We were wrong. The production was 100% magnificent. Over the years, we've come to realize that in backwater Utah we have a... More
