The tabernacle on Temple square can be visited. Also for concerts, see internet. It has 11.800 organ pipes. When the organ player is playing the sound is mindblowing.

This is a must do when in Salt Lake City! It is a 1/2 hour organ performance that was breathtaking. The organist did a demonstration of the acoustics in the building by dropping a pin - WOW! She did an amazing performance by playing not...More

You could listen all day, but at noon you get a special treat someone different plays. Today's woman used both feet and played Familiar tunes.

The organ was mildly impressive. The music was traditional, muddy, and lacked much personality. It's easy to sneak out between pieces so go if you want to sit for a few minutes.

After all the hype we expected much more than what was offered. Do not take children as they will be bored and restless. If you just need rest and meditation this will be for you.

Are tickets required for the organ recitals? If not, do we need to get there early to get in? Would anyone know about the choir rehearsals? I believe there is one on Thursday evenings? Are tickets required. Thanks in advance!

No tickets are required for either organ recitals or choir rehearsals, which I believe are on Saturday afternoons. I don't believe there is a problem getting seats for the organ recitals but that may depend on the day you... More
