Discover the amazing underwater world of the Texas State Aquarium!...

Discover the amazing underwater world of the Texas State Aquarium! Thousands of animals representing over 320 different species are ready to enchant, entertain, and inspire you. Corpus Christi's most popular cultural attraction has welcomed over 12 million visitors since its grand opening in July 1990. Conveniently located on North Beach, the Texas State Aquarium is just minutes from Corpus Christi's downtown district, convention center complex, and museums. The Texas State Aquarium Association is a not-for-profit, educational institution that does not receive any city, state, or federal funding for its operations. Every visit to the Texas State Aquarium is a new and exciting discovery of animals that remind us all of our responsibility to those whose world we share. The Aquarium's Second Chances Wildlife Rehabilitation Program is federally permitted and operates under rigorous standards established by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). Each year, thousands of protected, endangered or threatened species along the Texas coast become ill or injured. Most are brought to our facility with problems caused directly or indirectly by humans. The goal of the Texas State Aquarium's Second Chances Program is to rehabilitate, and whenever possible, return the animals to their natural environment. The Aquarium is an accredited member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and is a member of the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums. The Aquarium's mission is to engage people with animals, inspire appreciation for our seas, and support wildlife conservation.

I love looking at fish and they seem to like looking at me. This is an excellent place to learn about our aquatic friends. The docents are great and know their fish. I had a great time there. Lots of fish to see.

We went to aquarium on cloudy day & was a very nice place to visit. We especially liked the jelly fish displays. The aquarium has great interaction because we feed & touched Manta Rays & also touched Jelly fish. We have been to a lot of aquariums & thought smaller than expected for Texas aquarium however very nice one.

A fun way to spend the day with family . Pet the stingrays and sharks in the wade pool. Bring a bathing suit for the water play park for little ones.

Anyone visiting Texas should take time to come to Corpus Christi if for no other reason than to visit the Texas State Aquarium. Years ago when this concept began no one could have imagined just how big, exciting, interesting and memorable it would become. Donations from numerous organizations have allowed the TSA to grow beyond all expectations. In the very... More

Corpus hit the jackpot by building this amazing aquarium . All of their exhibits are first class and the shows featuring some of their sea creatures are worth going . This is a great place for young and old . The employees are most helpful and their knowledge of the exhibits is most helpful !

World class aquarium. None finer, some larger and fancier and better financed. Great for all ages. Hands on for the kids and a small, controlled water play area.

Pretty expensive ticket to see an average aquarium. For the same price, I would more strongly suggest visiting the Dallas World Aquarium in downtown Dallas. The dolphin show was quite nice, the bird show was mediocre, and the otter "show" was okay. Aquarium displays were ok. Best aquarium in Texas is probably the Dallas World Aquarium in downtown Dallas--quite an... More

Expected more from my visit to the aquarium. A few nice exhibits, but could have been a lot better. The aquarium was under construction, not even the shop was open. They had a corner in the visitors lounge where you could buy your mementos.

Nice small little place. Has a few exhibits. The dolphin show is very nice and a chance to touch the sting rays also is something different. I also enjoyed seeing a tanks which was a replica of typical Gulf of Mexico platform underwater life. The rest of it was very average. Worth a one time visit.

Kids and adults will love this aquarium. The jellyfish room is mesmerizing. The staff are very informative. The habitats appear well cared for and the fish look very healthy. The dolphin show is fun to watch. But the rehab turtles are my favorite. I could stand at the tank and watch them swimming around for hours. Very peaceful! The Caribbean... More
