Discover the amazing underwater world of the Texas State Aquarium!...

Discover the amazing underwater world of the Texas State Aquarium! Thousands of animals representing over 320 different species are ready to enchant, entertain, and inspire you. Corpus Christi's most popular cultural attraction has welcomed over 12 million visitors since its grand opening in July 1990. Conveniently located on North Beach, the Texas State Aquarium is just minutes from Corpus Christi's downtown district, convention center complex, and museums. The Texas State Aquarium Association is a not-for-profit, educational institution that does not receive any city, state, or federal funding for its operations. Every visit to the Texas State Aquarium is a new and exciting discovery of animals that remind us all of our responsibility to those whose world we share. The Aquarium's Second Chances Wildlife Rehabilitation Program is federally permitted and operates under rigorous standards established by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). Each year, thousands of protected, endangered or threatened species along the Texas coast become ill or injured. Most are brought to our facility with problems caused directly or indirectly by humans. The goal of the Texas State Aquarium's Second Chances Program is to rehabilitate, and whenever possible, return the animals to their natural environment. The Aquarium is an accredited member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and is a member of the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums. The Aquarium's mission is to engage people with animals, inspire appreciation for our seas, and support wildlife conservation.

The aquarium has added some new additions to include a carribean sea side with new sharks and exhibits. Diffenitly talk to the staff as they have some cool things to tell you. It's a bit pricey for a family of 3 it was close to $100 but they have a splash pad so bring your suites and you can spend... More

This is a great spot for large groups. We had 50 students and their were several large groups that were there at the same time. We purchased lunch there and they accommodated us easily and were super organized. Fun place for students and adults!

We visited the aquarium on a Sunday afternoon, avoiding the droves of field trippers. We were visiting from out of town and brought our hometown AZA zoo membership with us. We were able to utilize the AZA Reciprocal Program to get a discounted admission price to the aquarium, but we would have thought full price worth the expense. We loved... More

It use to take us an hour to see the entire aquarium, but this time it took us about five hours. So much more see and encounter at the aquarium. The 4 D theater was a great addition. The new aquariums they added were breathtaking. The jungle was small, but added something different for the kids. Would definitely take the... More

Great place. We arrived at noon and didnt leave until closing (6pm). I had 2 2 year olds in my group and they never got bored. If you take your time and watch all the free shows and talks its definitely worth the money

New Exhibits have been added to the 3rd level. The animals include more birds, sloth and Pacific waters marine life. Even though the aquarium is not at large as others, it is packed full of exhibits. The aquarium is a mesh of Sea World and a aquarium. Animal shows include, dolphin, otters, birds with talks on birds, turtles, jelly fish,... More

A little overpriced, tickets and food, but it is a neat place to take kids and they are actually trying to help the animals there.

We visited many years ago when our kids were smaller (now 11 & 14). At the time, we had the good fortune of visiting Sea World frequently and this place just couldn't compare. It's still smaller than Sea World, but the quality has grown in leaps and bounds. The Caribbean Journey exhibit is top quality and was the highlight of... More

Slightly high fee. Would be great if they offered birthday discounts. The shows were good. I feel wheelchair accommodations should not incur a fee as they did not have any footrest and my daughter kept tripping her feet and were dragging. As I know all wheelchairs come with footrest -they should be provided if forced to rent.

Nice way to spend an afternoon. I thought the price of $35/person was a bit high for being able to see everything in about 2 hours. Regardless, it's a very well maintained aquarium, great diversity, and I enjoyed being able to touch sharks, stingrays, sea urchins and hermit crabs.
