We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The roses were in bloom, as well as many desert flowers and orchids. The orchids were beautiful. The reptiles and birds were really cool. We fed the iguanas and birds. Nice selection of birds. I would highly recommend visiting here. They also have a nice gift shop. You should allow around two hours.

I usually get a discount from Groupon, which is a good deal. I went first thing Saturday morning. The staff is always lovely. The gardens themselves are always getting better. The construction is bothersome, and by the looks of it, will be for some time. There are reptiles in a room, then you step outside and meet up with several... More

Perhaps it was the time of the year, but I expected more than the current condition of the Gardens. However, there are interesting things to see there. Recommended for a visit.

When I lived in Corpus Christi ten years ago, I was not impressed with the Botanical Garden. When we came back and visited this time, I thoroughly enjoyed the visit and all of the improvements made to it. For its price, it was excellent, and a special attraction. We got to talk to birds and see butterflies, the rose garden... More

Very cool place. Great for young children. We were able to feed, pet and hold some of the birds and reptiles. The flowers were beautiful and the butterfly house was neat. Prices are reasonable. Definitely worth a visit.

My husband and I went to the South Texas Botanical Gardens Nature Center on a Monday afternoon. We spent about 90 minutes walking through the gardens and a nature trail. We enjoyed seeing many exotic birds, reptiles, exotic flowers, rose gardens and butterfly house. There was a 1:30 demonstration where I held a cockatoo and my husband petted an iguana... More

I wasn’t sure what to expect from a botanical garden near a city this size. I came away pleased with the experience even though there were a few improvements that need making. It’s clear that there is work going on here, and we visited early in the spring so some areas of the garden had not come into their own,... More

We came a little to early for most of the blooms, but it still was a nice place. The trail was marked very well and you have an easy to read map. Plenty of places to stop along the trail and just watch nature. They have a little selection of turtles and parrots. Plus a small butterfly room. Also a... More

Solid place to visit if you don't mind driving out into the middle of nowhere. It definitely has a Latin-American-like theme to it, and there are plenty of plants and birds. I was there in August, and I was amazed by how the animals were doing so well in such a dry area.

The gardens are not well cared for and the exhibits are in disrepair. Not a place I would spend money to visit.
