The museum is rather small but I'm not a surfer so it may be of interest to surfers. If you're in the area you may want to go but I certainly wouldn't travel too far to go.

As an old surfer from S. California, i really enjoyed the surf museum. The evolution of boards, from the long board to radicle "sticks", back to the long board and now a variety depending on where you surf. The surf museum captures it all.

Very neat place to get out of the sun, learn some interesting things about history of surfing. You can also buy some cd's of local artists / americana music. Then be sure to head over next door to the surf club for good food, drinks and music!

I grew up surfing so stopping in was a must do. WE and lunch next door so how convenient was that?! Very cool place with the history of surfing in Texas. Pretty cool displays of surfboards and surf information. Check it out

Went through the Texas Surf Museum one evening and really enjoyed it. They have quite a selection of vintage boards that give an insight into the evolution of the technical side of the sport. Also a good deal of photos/memorabilia and a video display. Really enjoyed it.

Interesting little place for those who love to surf as my husband did in his younger days. If you are interested in the sport, check it out. It is free and won't take long to explore.

This has the best south Texas surfing history you will never forget. You will learn so much about South Texas coast and surfing it will make your head spin. Even if your not a surfer, you will gain so much history about the coast and its visitors.

Nothing out of the world. But, hey its free and get to see a whole lot of different surf boards and one autographed by the beach boys. Some interesting posters and the replica of the vintage car outside is nice.
