Amazing zoo!

The zoo is really well designed, the animals have a lot of space to move around and they seem healthy and happy! Recommended for families and couples

I loved the zoo ...it was easy to get around, animals were in wonderful habitats and the journey to worldwide geographic areas was engaging! The adults lived it as much as the kiddos!

All the animals seemed healthy and happy! Enclosures were well maintained and setup in a manner that allowed you to view the animals yet it gave them security and comfort. None of them seemed to be lacking or in need of anything. We met staff member, Ms. Nancy Vetter, she was very pleasant and gave us some zoo history. She... More

The Gladys Porter Zoo is nice surprise for zoo goers. It is small enough to be able to do the whole zoo in a reasonable time (preferably early when the heat is less and the animals are moving) and it is large enough to have a good mix of animals. They also have aquatic life. One of the fun bonuses... More

This is a beautiful state park cost 5.00 per person to enter. They have a free trolley, however it is not a guided tour. It picks up and drops off people through out the park including rustic campers.

This beautiful zoo is #1 attraction in Brownsville for good reason. It has a lot of vegetation and places to sit and enjoy the animals. I don't recall seeing a cage and that is such a delightful change from the old days of rows and rows of caged animals. Their collection is large and unique (They have a type of... More

We are two families of three traveling with a twelve and thirteen year old. This zoo was amazing. We spend more than four hours exploring everything they had to offer. Our favorite exhibits were the stingrays that we were able to touch and the friendly flamingos that came right to the fence to say hello. One of the best zoo's... More

Feeding the sting rays and the giraffes were a hit with the grandkids. Great family zoo. Lots of animals to see up close. Very clean. Lots of shady places on warm days.

We enjoyed our visit.. The zoo is super clean, almost all the animals were at a visible site. The trees help a lot to ease the hot weather. The price is affordable, and is just the right size. The kids enjoyed the visit and didn't get tired. I recommend it to everyone.
