A Real beach--and only a beach

The redeeming feature of Boca Chica Beach is that it is only a beach--no vendors, no services--just sand and water. We visited the beach a couple of days ago--there were several... read more

Weather permitting and the way the sand on shoreline is you can drive south on the beach approximately 3 miles to were the Rio Grand River enters the golf.

This place is a little hard to get too but well worth the effort. It can be crowded on the weekend. I like going here doing the week when their is almost no one out there. It's like having a beach to yourself. The beach here is desolate, raw and unimproved and beautiful. No distractions from homes, hotels and bars... More

We were exploring, saw the signs and headed to the park. Beautifully maintained ...a real gem. Kiddos had a great time ..from the little ones on up.

This is a gem. It cost nothing the beach was great there are no facilities so bring a chair, a book or just stare out at the Gulf and the birds. You can walk to the mouth of the Rio Grand

HAPPY NEW YEARS! I lived in South Texas for 21 years and never did come to the very tip of Texas. To the Right is the USA/MEXICO BOARDER. BOCA Chica doesn't have very many visitors at one time. We ran into maybe 10 people. There were lots of jelly fish and the currents were strong. We enjoyed the view. We... More

The redeeming feature of Boca Chica Beach is that it is only a beach--no vendors, no services--just sand and water. We visited the beach a couple of days ago--there were several folks enjoying the sand and surf. The road to the beach is a bit lumpy in places and under repair, but not really a concern. Like all roads that... More

There are no facilities or concessions at this beach but don't let that stop you from coming to enjoy the beauty of nature at it's finest. Most days there are very few people there and it's very relaxing to just sit there and soak up the sun and enjoy the solitude. It's also nice to drive down the beach in... More

There are much better beaches in the area. A lot of trash. Most of the shells everyone talks about are small or broken. If you want to find large, thick clam shells go to the northern end of South Padre. Drive until the road ends.

Took a drive to Boca Chica State Park and while the drive there was a bit of a hike ( 20 + miles) from Brownsville and pretty boring we found the beach to rather nice and not crowded at all. The beach itself is a long stretch of hard packed sand that allows you to drive on it up to... More

We ended up picking up trash the entire time we were there. We did not like how many vehicles are on the beach either. Many of the drivers do not give the beach goers space to walk.
