Beautiful at all times of year, but especially nice in spring and fall. Several trails lead to the crest of the Sandia Mountains, but there are also shorter, easier walks if that's what suits you.

My mom and I walked and rolled up to the bird blind at the top of the trail. There were blue birds in the trees and bushes. And a friendly photographer who showed us zoom photo close-ups.

this was a fun easy hike... saw people on bikes, horses and walking. bring water. we did about 3 miles.
