I visited the courthouse grounds with my great uncle. I saw the tree planted for my mom's first cousin who has been missing since the Vietnam War and I got to see my great great grandfathers name on the civil war memorial in the park....More

This is a typical small American town. It has plenty of local history. Many streets here have no stop or yield signs at the intersection of streets. They expect people to respect others.

Start your tour with the movie at the visitors center to gain a better perspective of what you will see. Many great displays and dioramas set the tone. The trail is easy and enyoable.

Enjoyed driving around Pipestone's historic district. Especially enjoyed their City Hall -- red brick -- think it might be pipestone.

They just don't make buildings like this any more. It's great to see that they are being preserved and not torn down. Check out the Ghost Walk
