About
The Old Church Shops began as the Community Church in Estes Park in the early 1900. In 1982 it was converted into a collection of small shops, galleries, and eateries, each with its own distinctive merchandise. It is a great place to escape Estes Parks common afternoon rain showers.

Historical and Beautiful

Beautiful building -- you can tell there is history behind it. It has an exotic variety of shops that help you get away from the touristy t-shirt shops and such. It is well cared for, beautifully maintained, and even features a delicious restaurant and amazing coffee shop! Definitely make a stop here if you can while walking around Elkhorn Avenue!

Neat place

A wide variety of shops can be found under one roof in this old church. I visited a gallery, hot sauce shop, coffee shop and clothing store and there were certainly more options.

At the west end of a busy street this felt a bit tucked away and not as crowded as many other shops I stopped in. Definitely worth checking out if you are looking for more than standard tourist souvenirs.

Old Church Shops

More of the same Wisconsin Dells type stuff in an 80s interpretation of the downtown pedestrian mall. There are some artists shops which are better than the run of the mill t-shirt shops.

We took a drive up here before heading home & it was so worth the journey. Beautiful country to see along the way. We checked out a lot of the shops while we were here and we enjoyed visiting with all of the folks. I highly recommend it.

Not much in the Old Church Shops
Sep 2016 • Couples
There are currently only a couple places in the Old Church Shops but it is dog friendly which was nice to see. Most places do not open until 10:00 a.m. so keep that in mind; however, the parking is sparse at best so you might want to get there before things open then just take a nice walk along the river and through the town just taking in the scenery.

Do Not Take your Purebred Dog!
Jun 2016 • Couples
If you are thinking about taking your dog to the stores and shops at Estes Park, think again; dognappers lurk there. We were recently stalked by 2 men who attempted to get close enough to our purebred collie, and it was obvious they wanted to grab his leash from us and run. They try to blend into the huge maze of tourists in that area. They used a spotter who sat in the Old Church Shop, who texted his accomplice waiting outside by the restrooms. The spotter followed us and our dog throughout the Old Church Shops, while calling his friend outside; I alerted my husband immediately when I saw we were being followed. The spotter was Anglo, the attempted grabber was Mexican, the guy who was very angry that I would not allow him to pet or come near my dog. This area is very poorly policed, (I never once saw a police officer), it is dirty, crowded, and basically sells store after store of poor quality, redundant tourist junk. They wait until your are "distracted" by your shopping. Pet owner beware! Avoid even going down those streets or in that area; it would be wise to stay with your dog at all times, make sure your dog is leashed, and just go to Rocky Mtn. Natl. Park. Never leave your dog in your room, we were awoken in the middle of the night by pounding at our door by a third male. They even stalked us to our very nearby hotel room. A "bypass" around that horrible area needs to be constructed. Don't get a motel room there, they are very dirty and unsafe! Just drive in from a nearby city, see the park, eat and shop elsewhere, but not there, especially if you have a dog, as you risk losing that dog! I would give Estes Park a negative rating if one was available. It is dirty, not policed, heavily trafficked by tourists, way overpriced, and a waste of time and money. It is the worst tours trap I have ever seen, and it needs to disappear.

Henna Tatoos

We always come back to the store and get our henna tattoo when we visit Estes. Reasonably priced. My son also bought some art work there this year.
