The route was recommended by a local friend. It was a beautiful drive, and scenic, but slow with many sections 35-45 mph. just plan to take your time.

I LOVE this drive, especially in the fall (OF COURSE). What I dislike is all the traffic, so I try to go at a time when nobody else is. Hard to do nowadays in Colorado. But if you are lucky enough, you might even get...More

Always a scenic drive, if you can travel it in mid-September, it graduates to spectacular! The aspen are off the chart and it's among the best 50 miles you'll ever travel. Through passes, mountain tops, meadows, past ghost towns and other eclectic little towns and...More

Plan for plenty of time to enjoy as much as you can of the beautiful Rocky Mountain National Park. Enjoy the sweeping vistas and bring your camera and polarizing lens for your fill of 'Rocky Mountain Fever'.

Very scenic drive through the mountains. Road was not hard to drive and was very beautiful, even in the summer when we were there.

We went in November no traffic in the park. Great snow, elk, water ways. We stayed in Estes Park at the Stanly. Beautiful drive and short hikes.

Yes there is smoke haze. There are webcams for Estes Park & RMNP but TA won't let me post the link. Just Google. In the future, you'll get quicker replies if you post in the Estes Park forum.
