Baldpate is a bit out of the way, but needs to be on everyone's bucket list. The key collection was truely amazing, but have a beverage and quietly enjoy the patio....... The hummingbird gathering is even more impressive.

We were overwhelmed with how many keys there are. Unfortunately, we were looking for one specific key with details to help us find it, and we couldn't locate it.

Stop by the Baldpate for lunch and spend time in the Key Room. They have over 20K keys from across the world --- hotel keys, coffin keys, house keys, bank keys, etc. See local photographs taken by the original owners back in the 1920's and various memorabilia. Bring your own extra key to donate to the collection!…

I read reviews and was close by after hiking on Lily Lake. Feeling hungry I decided to stop by for something to eat. I heard they had very good soup and thought I'd check out the menu as well. I wasn't sure what to expect but from the pics was intrigued to see all the keys. It was different but interesting. Not sure I was all that excited after reading a number of tags attached to the keys though. Stomach growling I went to be seated. I asked about the menu and was told it was an all you can eat soup and salad bar. That was it, no other options?? He said I could check out the salad bar and decide. The selection was mediocre at best and was shocked about it being around $14. I left and drove back to Estes Park disappointed and found another establishment to dine at. Worth the time to stop? I guess if you're curious about keys but wouldn't recommend it.…

The place is leaning, the pie was good, the photos were very intriguing, and the rooms.....ok...... roughing it is now a Marriott.
