I noticed this park on our way from Estes Park to our hotel and decided to stop and exercise our dog. He enjoyed playing in the river and running around because we had the place to ourselves.

Nice, but not a place I would travel long distances to see. It's a lovely little place on the Thompson River. There's plenty of rushing water. I'm not sure it's a particularly scenic stop, but it would be a good place for a picnic or may just too "chill-out". When we visited there was some folks fly fishing. Also, there's no entrance fee here. They also had bathrooms.

This park has no entrance fee and is free. It is by a river and has picnic tables making it a relaxing place to have a packed lunch. The Drive getting to the park is very impressive and shouldn’t be missed. We had the majority of time in the park to ourselves. I highly recommended a visit here.

Convenient location. No entrance fees. Lots of activity options -- we came for hiking for noticed people picnicking, fishing, and looking for wildlife or photographing it, like us. We could see lots of trout in the water -- and my dad was disappointed he didn't bring his fishing gear. The trees and mountains nearby provided us with some beautiful photos and a really peaceful surrounding. Somewhere we'd definitely stop again to take photos, hike, or just get some peace and quiet.

This is a great drive in the Thompson River Canyon. We love the way it follows the road and all the beautiful rocks. Nice area to picnic and watch fly fisherman and walk.
