It was understanding this was a smaller museum; one that would take 1 to 2 hours to go through. I am happy to say this museum is a true gem. My husband and I spent 4 1/2 hours there, and could have stayed longer. It is easy to navigate, all on one level, and there are plenty of chairs to... More

This out of the way museum on the campus of Johnson & Wales University campus is an interesting diversion for a few hours. The museum is nicely laid out with sections on diners, kitchen equipment, camp cooking, etc. There are hands on things for kids, some videos, and an entire recreated diner. If cooking and culinary history is of any... More

The collection of culinary pieces goes back mostly to early American items. It is well organized and brings back memories for people in their sixties. Spend 3 hours here for sure!!

Worth a trip a bit off the beaten path in Providence. Fun overview of food and its connection with our culture. I was greeted at the desk by a friendly and enthusiastic student. Savor your visit through some really interesting exhibits, some on surprising topics and local history. What a treat!

As a food nerd, I was particularly enticed by the thought of a culinary arts museum. As a veteran, I was grateful I was granted free admission. As one not knowing what to expect, I left with mixed feelings about the museum. Given the amount of space in the museum, I was left wanting to see more artefacts from days... More

As part of our bus tour we spent a few hours on a guided tour of this museum. Emeril was a graduate of this school and the collect they have is educational and worth the time.

This is a great little find on the Johnson and Wales campus. In addition to a permanent collection of the history of hospitality and culinary memorabilia, they have temporary exhibits as well. When we visited there were wedding cakes by students, and bread baking entries from culinary students from many different countries. It is a very interesting stop if you... More

We'd never been to a culinary arts museum before but now we have and we are really glad we went. It's a fun meander through the world of cooking and eating that will produce lots of smiles and lots of "Wow, look at this!" or "I remember that." The website provides a very accurate representation of what you can expect... More

This museum has a nice collection of old items related to food. Appliances, diner cars, boxes, cans, etc. there is a lot of labels on things but I didn't find it well organized. I think the students could take on a renovation project to group things in logical orders rather than so haphazardly. Also add better signage instead of just... More
