The first Buffalo Exchange opened in 1974 in Tucson, Arizona by Kerstin and Spencer Block. To our knowledge, this was the very first store that bought, sold, traded, and took clothing items and accessories on consignment. Kerstin, being Swedish, thought the word "Buffalo" was very American. And since the store was going to be an "Exchange," the store's name was born. The store was in a 450 square foot space that had been an old union office on a side street near the University of Arizona. Kerstin's love of fashion and thrill in finding a bargain combined to create the company that now has 24 stores and 6 franchises in 11 states, with over $29 million a year in sales. The Blocks still own and run Buffalo Exchange out of Tucson, along with their daughter Rebecca.

You see, this isn't really a shop. It's a cult in disguise. While having all kinds of beliefs is everybody's right, shoving them down your customers' throats is not. Buffalo Exchange does not believe in bags. They hand you the clothes, which may be many and/or heavy, assuming you'll place them in your pockets, assuming you have any that is.... More

Imagine finding vintage 70's jeans, or brand new tag still on Izod shirts-it's all here. Shoes too. With the U of A right around the corner there is plenty of clothing turnover and additions every day. Prices are great, and the selection can't be more eclectic. Go take a peek, and leave with an unexpected treasure.

This is a great place to find one of a kind clothing and accessories. They have a great selection of summer and fall clothing. Look for the red stamped tags and save 50% off. Bring your old clothes and sell them for cash or trade. Great way to help the environment while looking fresh. You will always find great stuff... More

I have visited several Buffalo Exchange stores in 3 different states and really like them all. This store is particularly clean and well organized but the friendly, helpful staff is what really makes this store great!

Buffalo Exchange resale boutique is a favorite with the college set as well as the savvy shopper. It may take some looking, but their are finds from big name labels to funky western gear for your square dance party. They have good selection of bags and shoes sold at a fraction of the original cost. Not just for co-eds and... More

Fun, funky, hip vibe, vintage & 2nd hand clothes, plus a great accessories selection. I'm not their target audience & they could have given me "the look" that said "you don't belong here". Instead, the sales associate rolled out the red carpet for me, giving me a hip Buffalo Exchange bag to give to my fashionista 13-yr-old (who wasn't with... More

The staff, the atmosphere with retro music, and the variety of clothes was a pleasure! The store is so much better and bigger than the one on 26th street in Manhattan, NY

What a fantastic shop this is! Visiting from Scotland, I found an amazing banana republic tan trench coat for $35 from this season! Fab! Special mention to Marcus who served me. I think that was his name. Fantastic guy! Thank you!

I took my daughter-in-law and son here on our visit to Tucson. We had alot of fun searching through the clothes. We all found great wearable, stylish clothes. I wish we had one of these stores where I live.
