We spent the morning at the Witte museum which was very impressive. We began at the B. Baylor Morton research and collection center which was FREE and this part of the museum contains collections of many historical objects. Very interesting and be sure to open the drawers under the displays to see many more historical objects. We the went over... More

We purchased a membership and have found it to be quite worthwhile! With the membership, you save significantly on the special exhibits. They are getting ready to open the new addition recently added, so I'm sure that will make this museum even better. It is also very close to the zoo and the Japanese Gardens so you can visit several... More

Apparently the renovation has eliminated /limited the portions of the pre-history exhibit. So, there was very little "natural" involved in this historical visit (hey, you could always pick up a plastic dinosaur in the gift shop)😆. For your $10 There is some nice information to be learned regarding the history of the San Antonio area from the Folsom peoples to... More

Had a nice visit to The Witte museum. I liked the exhibit about the history of San Antonio best. Had a nice walk through the gardens along the river. The Earth Explorers was interesting as well. There were constructions underway and the new exhibit will be ready in spring. Shame, I would have liked to see these.

Have been to the Witte many times as a resident of San Antonio, but was really disappointed this trip. Most of the museum, the natural history part, was under renovation. The Texas gallery was open and the Science Treehouse. For an additional $15 each, we could have seen another exhibit. Already felt I overpaid for what we did see. Go... More

Really liked this museum. Lots to see and do. Has different exhibitions going on all the time. Time before last was a "Be Sherlock Holmes"-type exhibit. Very fun and interesting. Great for kids and the grounds are very nice.

This museum has some real highlights. The new building which hosts the exhibition on the history of the South Texas region is really good and worthwhile. Otherwise i think our visit was underwhelming. Its not really a great place for kids, the National Geographic exhibition was OK but i wouldnt go again. There is also still quite a lot of... More

We recently visited the museum for the Mayan exhibition which was nice and informative, but other than that and the HEB tree house, there is not much to do. We where there for 2 hours only. I wish they could improve it with more attractions.

This place is fantastic, when we went they had a show on Insects. It was spectacular. The only draw back were the prices but still very enjoyable. I recommend it if you are traveling with children, they will have a wonderful time.

This place has a lot of little things to see, but doesn't really do anything in-depth. It's worth visiting, but with kids, and only during the afternoons when kids get in for free.
