Once, twenty years ago, the San Antonio River Walk was a very pleasant stroll along the the river to avoid the hustle and bustle of the downtown streets above. There were great little restaurants (best filet I have ever eaten) and shops. Today, the Riverwalk is lined with chain restaurants who have hawkers outside their front doors to entice the... More

Love walking down the river especially at night during December with the Christmas lights. So many things to do and see.

This is an excellent way to travel the waterways under the city and it obviously gives you a great sight into how the waterway works. However, although we are British and our guide spoke English he spoke so fast we couldn't understand much of what he said. He was speaking so quickly he himself was tripping over his words. Such... Every downtown's dream. Got the Alamo historic site. Got a shaded walk. Got a boat ride. Got a multitude of shopping and dining options.

I remember before it was here. It was a nasty place for prostitution and drug dealers. Now it is a beautiful upscale place. The restaurants have a ways to go.

Was a wonderful spot to grab lunch, dinner, or a drink after my recent conference visit. Also rode on a boat and walked along side it for a break. Very relaxing and many places to choose from. Would visit again!

We always love visiting the Riverwalk. There are so many restaurants to chose from and the ambiance is lovely. We enjoy strolling along the river enjoying the view and the people watching.

We had a great guide on our boat tour (a fee), but it was a lovely walk, too. We had beautiful Christmas lights glowing as we rode the boat.

The river walk is beautiful! My family and I loved this place. Definitely, if you come to San Antonio, you must come to this place, it is essential. It is a little inaccessible for wheelchairs and strollers. At night it looks very nice to see how people enjoy the restaurants in the riverwalk.
