Unless you are going to the Medical Center, the River Walk is why I come to San Antonio. And, yes, the Alamo is across the street. The best thing for me is that I can park my car and never drive again until I leave ( with one exception ).

Beautiful historic scenery, nice shops along the way, boat tours, bars, a bunch of sweet shops. A full array of services for everyone. Very relaxing not the normal feeling of a high tourist area. Everything is at your pace.

It was a drizzly day but it was a beautiful walk along the river, we also enjoyed the boat ride along the river walk. It was quite informative. It is a great way to see what restaurants are along the river before you decide where you want to dine. We chose to eat at Saltgrass. It was an excellent choice... More

There are at a minimum 2 things you simply must do if you are visiting San Antonio - tour the Alamo and explore the beautiful River Walk. Lots of shopping in some really cool stores and a ton of places to eat some really good food. Everyone is friendly and helpful. Take the river barge cruise to learn more about... More

One of San Antonio's best attractions, this is a place you can enjoy a nice stroll in the river walk, watching the locals and tourist alike. The nice sound of live bands or singers will entertain you and there are eateries galore, although you have to do your research because many are just tourist traps. Dotted with bars, you can... The river walk is so beautiful, wish my knees would let me walk more. It is so peaceful and relaxing. So many places to eat and not enough time lol. I would highly recommend going here.

The River Walk is worth visiting. The setting is beautiful and full of energy. There is a lot of variety in the eateries, boutiques and things to do. We had the chance to visit during the day and in the evening. The lights in the evening adds to the experience.

The Riverwalk is pretty. So much culture to see. Busy, people everywhere. Boat tour down the river is a must! Lots of walking involved. Lots of restaurants, paddlers & shopping.
