The Paseo del Rio is San Antonio's favorite attraction. You can shop, dine, lounge in a cafe, or simply stroll along and let the strumming mariachi soothe your spirit.

Whether to take a boat or a leisurely walk along the river walk there are plenty of places to stop and enjoy along the way. Great restaurants and hotels line the river.

Despite of the heat, the riverwalk was nice. We enjoyed the boat ride. I would not recommend this if you are wheelchair bound or have a hard time walking. Lots of bridges and stairs.

I stayed at a hotel on the riverwalk for a work event and really enjoyed being able to step outside, go for a nice walk, and have lots of great food and shopping options nearby. Highlights include mexican food, Boudro's, and a hot sauce store...More

Okay so it's a nice stroll along a partially man made waterway. But really, it's just an outdoor shopping mall with a river running through the center of it. It has a nice ambience but I just don't get what all the to do is...More

Well folks if eating, drinking and people watch is your thing then this is the place. You can dine on any budget and eat most foods, whilst watching the world go by, very relaxing, but only for strolling, not the place to walk if you...More

Our reunion group took an hour long private boat tour on the river. The driver seemed knowledgeable and pleasant. We had two boats with about 30 people in each. That was a good number since normally a full boat is rather uncomfortable.

The riverwalk is bordered by flowers everywhere and beautiful mosaics dot the walls and bridges. I loved every foot of it but on the weekend it gets crowded and loud.

Mid september evening, perfect temperature, nice breeze, beautiful scenery, active night life. Water taxi never showed up though, it would have been nice to have since we were walking from the northern end of the river walk with two children and no stroller.

The weather can vary. It can be in the 60s-70s or even up to the 80s and 90s around Thanksgiving. I would pack for warm weather but bring a sweater or jacket in case it gets cooler. Especially at night once the sun goes down.
