This is relief sculpture of a candle representing Our Lady of Guadalupe, outdoors facing Guadalupe Street on the West side. It is lovely. I have not seen it lit at night, and I can only imagine that must be superb. It is free to see, and worth it. Go to the Panaderia (bakery) nearby on Bixby, across from the Guadalupe... More

I took a drive to this location to see the Virgin Mary architecture for myself, very nice and unique. I have not been inside the actual building, but the displays on the outside are nice for a view. I wouldn't wander too far in this neighborhood though, especially if you are not familiar with the area, it's in the heart... More

Yes the cultural center offers numerous opportunities for the local very talented youths in this humble but vibrant community. The museum is open Tuesday Thursday Saturday. FREE admission and close proximity parking too. Current show featuring Mel Casas a local San Antonio teacher, artist and outspoken human being.

Las Nuevas Tamaleras is a wonderful comedy tradition I could not miss when they were showing at the Blue Star, San Antonio TX. I stopped attending after they moved the show to the Guadalupe Cultural Center. It was a shame, but the location is not suited for that type of show or any type of show setting on stage for... More

I visited the location for the architecture. The building was located in an area that you might want to visit during daylight hours if you are a female traveling by yourself such as I was. It was an amazing sight to see the mosaic design of the candle. Very interesting and like nothing I have seen before on a building.

We came here to see Las Nuevas Tamaleras, a bilingual play that is performed every year during the holiday season. The theatre itself is small, and is a renovated 1940s movie theater. Acoustics were good. We were sitting near the back and were able to hear the dialogue. It is difficult to see if you sit further back, as there... More
